Ed Tittel is very qualified to write this book.  He has been writing about computers for
years.  His book goes into detail about how you can recognize an evil force that has
invaded your computer, getting tools to cure infections,  dealing with Windows Registry to
remove some bugs, installing firewalls, and handling spam.

Ed talks about several leading malware defensive companies such as:  Norton,
Spysweeper, Spybot, Google pop-up blocker, Microsoft Windows programs, BitDefender,
Computer Associates,  F-Secure, McAfee, Panda, and ZoneAlarm.  He also lists specific
files that run in the background on your computer.  Sometimes, the bad guys will try to
imitate these important files, and it is beneficial to know this information.

Ed spends a whole chapter talking about firewalls and how they relate to the different
layers of communication that are involved with data transfers.  He discusses Windows
Firewall, Norton Symantec, and ZoneAlarm in detail.

The author spends a lot of time describing what virus files look like, how they enter your
computer, and how you can specifically destroy them.  His book is very valuable for
knowing what the enemy looks like and how to defeat malware.
