| Bart Ehrman is the department head of Religious Studies at the University of North Carolina. He is well qualified to comment on the highly popular book called The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown, which postulates that Jesus got married and has descendants in the world today. Professor Ehrman uses historical documents to refute Dan Brown's claim about Jesus humanity. He proves that Jesus did not get married and that Christ does not have any earthly descendants. The multiplicity of historical documents about Jesus' life clearly agree with Bart Ehrman's defense of the traditional Jesus as opposed to the fictional writing of Dan Brown. This book is outstanding for understanding how historical documents are evaluated for the truth, and it lists several of these well known writings. Christians everywhere should be interested in this book for a classic defense of the faith. You can buy this book from Amazon.com by clicking below: http://www.amazon.com |

| The Purpose Driven Life--by Rick Warren Have you ever wondered what your purpose in life is? Why are you here in the world? Rick Warren gives a good explanation of this in his book as well as presenting a plan to achieve your worthwhile purpose. His book has sold more than 20 million copies, and it is one of the greatest non-fiction books of all time. The book's premise is that God has created us for a purpose, but His purpose may not be recognized by us unless we are diligent in finding out what it is. It may also be a much different plan than we imagined. Our life takes "shape" in our experiences, and that shape is part of God's plan for our lives. The "shape" of a person's life defines a person's best role in making a difference in the world. Rick's book is divided into 40 sections, and it is designed to be studied over a 40 day period while a person seeks to find his or her purpose in life. The Bible has specific characters like David and Esther whom God created for a specific place and time. We should also think in terms of God's role for us in our generation. Rick states that "before most unbelievers accept the Bible as credible, they want to know that we are credible." This book is outstanding for trying to make sense of your life and to become something for God. You can buy Rick's book from Amazon.com by clicking on the link below: http://www.amazon.com |
