Scot Wingo is an expert for the online auction business.  He has studied practices from
3,000 of Ebay's most successful businesses.  His company, ChannelAdvisor, processes
more than $30 million per month in transactions on eBay.  So, he has the qualifications to

One strategy that Scot mentions is to join affiliate programs.  This is a two way street.  
You could receive commission money from referrals to Amazon.com and other
companies, and you could set up your own associate program in which you pay people
for helping to grow your business.  

Another strategy is to have email newsletters that tell about bargains on your site.  This
has one of the highest returns on your investment.  You must be sure that your
customers are requesting the newsletter, though, and you need to give them a way to
unsubscribe.  In this way, you will be upholding the new anti-spam legislation.

Another technique is to use search engines and shopping engines to attract business to
your site.  You could carefully try a paid search company such as Overture, Google, or
FindWhat.  Scot also gives excellent chapter summaries so that you can quickly review
